ESDM – Smartphone Assembly Technician

The Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) – Smartphone Assembly Technician project aims to enhance the technical skills and employability of youth by providing industry-oriented training in smartphone manufacturing and assembly. The programme focuses on developing practical knowledge of smartphone components, electronic circuits, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), assembly procedures, and quality control standards followed in the electronics manufacturing industry.

The training covers identification and handling of electronic components, smartphone parts assembly, use of basic electronic tools and equipment, soldering fundamentals, component mounting, battery and display installation, connector fitting, software installation basics, functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of common smartphone-related issues. Participants are also trained in workplace safety, electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, proper handling of sensitive electronic components, and maintaining quality standards during production.

The project emphasizes hands-on practical sessions, technical demonstrations, and industry-relevant skill development to prepare candidates for employment as smartphone assembly technicians, electronics production operators, testing assistants, and quality inspection personnel. It also helps candidates understand production-line procedures, teamwork, workplace discipline, and basic communication skills required in manufacturing environments.
